Honours Social Psychology (Research Specialist Option with a Psychology Specialization) (BA)
This program equips students with advanced training in empirical methods, data collection, and analysis, allowing them to investigate the influence of close relationships, peer networks, social identities, and culture on our attitudes, values, beliefs, behaviour, and well-being. This focus hones critical thinking and problem-solving skills, empowering students to critically evaluate evidence and develop methods to understand complex social dynamics. Students in this Specialization will take a greater concentration of psychology-themed courses and will receive research mentorship by psychology-focused faculty members within the Social Psychology Program. This Specialization is especially intended for students who wish to apply for research-based graduate programs in psychology.
By enrolling in our research specialization program, students gain the chance to make meaningful contributions to the broader field of social psychology through their research projects. This experience can lead to publications or presentations at conferences, enhancing their academic and professional profiles.
Moreover, social psychology research often intersects with other disciplines, offering students a broader perspective and the opportunity to collaborate across fields. This interdisciplinary approach enriches their studies and opens doors to diverse career paths.
For those planning to pursue advanced degrees in psychology, our Research Specialist Option with a Psychology Specialization offers a strong academic foundation and invaluable experience, making the transition to graduate-level work smoother and more successful.
