The Social Psychology Program at McMaster University is currently seeking sessional instructors for the following courses in the upcoming 2026-27 academic year:

• SOCPSY 2B03 – Psychology of Well-Being (Job ID 76701)
  • Term: Fall 2026 (September 8 – December 23, 2026)
  • Location: Central Campus
  • Course Description: This in-person course is an exploration of what social psychological perspectives and research can contribute to the quest for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
• SOCPSY 3H03 – Industrial/Organizational Psychology (Job ID 76703)
  • Term: Fall 2026 (September 8 – December 23, 2026)
  • Location: Central Campus
  • Course Description: This in-person course explores the psychology of work. Topics include the organizational effectiveness and dynamics involved in hiring, training, performance, leadership, and team behaviour.
• SOCPSY 3A03 – Mental Health (Job ID 76704)
  • Term: Winter 2027 (January 4 – April 22, 2027)
  • Location: Central Campus
  • Course Description: This in-person course is an exploration of social psychological approaches and research to mental health. Topic areas may range from the social and cultural factors that affect definitions of normal/abnormal to those that affect who experiences mental health issues and/or receives treatment.
• SOCPSY 4G03 – Child Clinical Psychology (Job ID 76705)
  • Term: Winter 2027 (January 4 – April 22, 2027)
  • Location: Central Campus
  • Course Description: This in-person seminar course explores theoretical and clinical perspectives on disorders presenting in childhood, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and learning, mood, and anxiety disorders

Requirements to apply:

• PhD or near completion of a PhD in social psychology or a related field of study, along with teaching experience. Selection will be based on academic qualifications, demonstrated teaching competence, ability to perform the various duties associated with the Appointment, and previous academic employment experience. (These criteria are not listed in order of priority.)
• Successful teaching experience and strong scholarly record
